Our Search For A Engine
In the the search for parts or an engine for 680 I was introduced to GraemeBell Of Newcastle College the team leader at the Motor Department who was very helpful and said that he would help us if at all possible. His enquiries are ongoing and we are waiting for his findings. While at the site I was shown some of the campus which is very different to the days when I spent my time at Gateshead Technical college, their inviroment is that of a garage and in another building classrooms fully equipped with modern technology. Today the 18th August Newcastle College donated our group with a 0680 engine for 680 to put her back on the road. Graeme told me that this engine had been ran and all sounded well and that he would rather see it back in a bus where it belongs where enthusiasts can continue to view her. The old engine will go back to the College where future mechanics will explore the diesel engine and the damage that can be caused. We are totally indebted to Graeme and his team for their generosity.
